Requirements:

Task Assignment and Shipboard Responsibility

The First Officer (Deck) is a Bridge Watch Keeper as required by the Bridge Operations Manual and Bridge Resource Management BRM;
2. The First Officer (Deck) is responsible for the following work areas:

Conducting Monthly mooring line inspections;
Supporting the SC monitoring the Vessels Statutory Deck equipment Certificates ensuring all are in date and highlighting to the Staff Captain any that are due for renewal;
Conducting Deck Officer Duty Familiarization;
Deck Department Hazardous Familiarisation training;
Maintaining Deck Department Chemical inventory list;
Non-LSA checks of Lifting Appliances according to PMS, reporting any defects with the unplanned maintenance section of the PMS and bringing to the attention of the Staff Captain;
Maintaining Vessel’s crack/dent log;
Assisting Staff Captain as required with scheduling, planning and management of Deck maintenance, inspections and surveys.
3. The First Officer (Deck) assists the Staff Captain with the implementation and monitoring of the Water Safety Plan. This includes monitoring of the Recreational Water Facilities in liaison with Hotel Service Engineer;
4. Any additional duties as required by the Staff Captain and/ or Master are added to this task assignment in writing:
